Call For Papers
Thank you for submitting to the 2020 GSN Symposium. Please read the guide for authors before submitting an abstract. Please name your abstract and paper with LastName_Date_Title. For Example, Smith_2018-08-08_GeochemistryforDummies. You will receive a confirmation email once we have read your abstract and paper. Please click the appropriate button and fill out all questions on the appropriate page with your submissions. If you have questions regarding abstracts please email firstname.lastname@example.org and if you have questions on papers please email email@example.com.

Papers are encouraged, but not required. Please consider publishing an extended abstract, if you will not be publishing a paper. Speakers will receive a discounted registration price.Our intention is to have all Talk & Poster Abstracts plus written papers available in the Symposium Proceeding Volumes at the start of the Symposium in May.
Abstract and Paper Deadlines
July 31 August 31 is the deadline for Draft initial Abstracts for talks &/or posters solicited by the Tech Committee or Session Chairs or unsolicited to fit in various outlined sections. First Draft Papers with Abstracts are Due Nov 1 for peer review, returned to authors after review(s) by Jan 15 with final revised version due back to the Pub. Committee by March 1 to allow type-setting and quick review of the galleys by the authors for publication by the start of the Symposium in May. Final Abstracts for inclusion in the Program with Abstracts are due by Feb 1. Minor changes in the Abstracts going with the papers for publication in the Proceedings volumes can be made up until March 1. Those giving talks or posters ( including core shed posters & photos ) are encouraged to submit Papers or Extended Abstracts for the Proceedings Volume by Nov 1. Unsolicited abstracts without talks or posters will not be considered for Proceedings publication. We will be following Report Format Guidelines of the Utah Geological Survey.
Will there be a 2022 symposium proceedings?
Yes, there will be another published volume in time for the re-scheduled 2022 Symposium. The 2022 digital proceedings will contain both the 2020 and 2022 content of pdf-format papers and abstracts in separate folders. Both proceedings volumes will be provided as part of every full technical program registration. GSN has yet to determine whether there will be a printed 2022 volume. Please check back for submission dates.
