The GSN Symposium Planning Committee, due to the postponement of the symposium from May 2021 to May 2nd through 5th, 2022, has decided to reopen a period to refund registration for anyone who wishes to cancel. This period will extend from April 15th through May 31st, 2021.

After the previous refund period concluded on May 31st, 2020, 315 active registrants remained anticipating the symposium in May 2021. The funds provided by these registrants, combined with those from our exhibitors, advertisers, and sponsors, have given GSN the financial strength to continue preparations, now for May 2022. Thanks to all for your support.

All refunds requested will be full refunds of all events and activities for which you registered less $50 for the Proceedings and Abstracts on the USB drive sent to all active registrants in late July 2020. Refunded events will include the technical program, field trips, short courses, luncheons, daily passes, exhibits only passes, Landshark Lounge, and guest passes. The fees will be refunded in the same manner you paid, either by credit card through PayPal or by check. If you do not want a refund at this time, do nothing; we will carry your registration forward, as is, to next year. Please note that the planning committee is evaluating possible fee increases for 2022 due to rising costs. Those who obtain a refund and, later, register for the symposium will receive a discount, to be determined, on the new fees in-consideration of their renewed support.

Refunds will be initiated by you through the GSN Symposium website (, using the CANCEL option. If someone other than you paid for your registration by credit card, please provide the name on the card. The deadline for cancellation is May 31st, 2021.

The planning committee intends that the symposium theme and general program structure remain the same as planned for 2020, but changes to the technical program, field trips, short courses, or luncheon speakers are likely. If you wish to cancel or change any of those activities, but do not want to cancel your entire registration, you will be able to make those changes starting January 10th, 2022. General registration will not reopen until January 31st, 2022, giving you the opportunity to make your changes before others begin to register. All exhibitors will be contacted by Mary Stollenwerk and Tony Gesualdo for any refund requests. Please anticipate announcements as symposium programs are confirmed during the coming months.
